September Model of the Month

Stan Ulrich's Model T shortened Sedan Pickup was voted the SABA Model of the Month for September 2011.  Stan built the model based on a full scale pickup he found in a magazine.  The running gear of the full sized pickup is as modern as it can be.  The model is no different under all the rusty body panels lies a Dodge Dakota chassis and running gear with a modern Chevy 6 Cyl engine.

Leave it to Stan to take what he sees on the printed page and turn it into a winning model.

SABA Model Builder of the Year

 At the monthly meetings SABA members bring their Works in Progress and Completed Builds.  The members vote on the Completed Builds, which is how we come up with our Model of the Month.  At year end, the total points from the Model of the Month voting and the member with the highest number of points is the SABA Model Builder of the Year.

The SABA member with the most point for 2010 is Chuck Carter.  

Chuck primarily builds Big Rigs and Carnival rigs.  But when Chuck decides to build a car it is right up there with the best of them.

Congratulations Chuck.

The 1 Year Community Build Challenge is now complete.  Dick Ellingson's Peterbuilt Truckster was voted the winner of the 1 Year Community Build Challenge.  The one thing you can always expect from any of Dick's builds is they are going to be unique, and his Truckster is no exception to the rule.
