The 40th Annual Bob Paeth Portland Classic Model Car Contest was held in conjunction with the 54th Annual Portland Roadster Show.  Aprox 300 Models were entered in contest this year.  The BPPC is unique in that there are no set categories prior to models being entered, the entries establish the categories.  It is always interesting to see what local modelers are building.  SABA has been the host club for the Classic since the clubs founding in the early '80s.

The 54th Annual Portland Roadster Show was the last in the Oregon Convention Center with the show moving to the Portland Expo Center next year.

Being the Classic is part of the Portland Roadster Show you never know who will stop by and see the show.  This year was no exception with Jimmy Shine of SoCal Speed Shop fame spending part of Friday evening hanging out in the Model Contest room.  It is a bonus to the entrants to have someone of Jimmy's reputation stop by and offer advice and take interest in their builds.  Thank You Jimmy, we know your time is valuable and we appreciate the time you spent with us.

This years Best in Show winner was Bob Robinson's '34 Rat Rod Pickup.  Every time you look at Bob's build you find something you missed the last time.  Bob's '34 is now eligible for the 3rd Annual Best of the Best Contest.
